RE: FNV bid?

RE: FNV bid?Uhmm ... I listened to a couple of FNV presentations and heard the CEO saying during both presentations that they may want to spin-off non-gold assets since they think they are undervalued because of the royalty mix.
So they want to focus on gold.

And, yes, silver is a precious metal, but when you want to sell a product to investors you want to keep it simple.
Investors now already have the choice of buying a silver royalty company, and they can choose the gold/silver mix they are comfortable with by simply buying SLW plus a gold royalty company (example, RGLD) allocating the percentage of portfolio they prefer.

It is for this reason that Peter Barnes (CEO of SLW) answered a question about the Minto gold stream by saying that SLW will not be interested in making new gold deals. They will get gold from Minto because it comes with SST but they won't follow up.
Keeping SLW in the silver space helps keeping the product simple and avoids competition.

These are the reasons why I'm not so sure FNV would be interested in buying silver streams, but I would certainly be happy to be wrong.
