The Company produces flat-rolled value-added steels, including coated, cold-rolled, and hot-rolled steel products, as well as pig iron and metallurgical coke. It also provides gauge, crown, and shape control, as well as uniform through-coil mechanical properties. The Company’s steel products are supplied to customers in the steel service center, construction, automotive, energy, appliance, and pipe and tube industries across Canada and the United States. It operates from two facilities: Lake Erie Works (LEW) near Nanticoke, Ontario and Hamilton Works (HW) in Hamilton, Ontario.

Looks like Stelco & Algoma may be getting an unwarranted SP boost from the excellent earnings performances of Nucore & Steel Dynamics.

Here's an interesting comparison:
4th Q Data:

Nucore EPS $4.89 (beat consensus by 71 cents per share)
SP performance since reporting - up 13.9%
Steel Dynamics EPS $4.37 (beat consensus by 77 cents per share)
SP performance since reporting - up 24.3%

Stelco EPS $.55 (missed consensus by 40 cents per share)
SP performance since reporting - up 16.6%
Algoma EPS $(-.64) (missed consensus by 18 cents per share)
SP performance since reporting - up 22.8%

Seems to defy logic.
