Something interesting and indicative
Had a visit this afternoon from my sister and her husband. Brian is a retired employee of Stelco. He shared that he received $3000 from Stelco at the end of June, as a profit-sharing bonus. This, he thought, was the highest amount Stelco would pay out when there's a profit. Apparently this is a quarterly thing. I told him he might get another $3000 at the end of September. He also mentioned that the Cogen - the sharing in an electricity generating project - is gaining steam at Nanticoke.

I'm just curious. How does a retired, former employee get a profit sharing bonus?

I am guessing that it's part of the retirement package. He mentioned that while the salary was so-so, that profit-sharing program continues to be really lucrative.
