RE:Oil and gas futures look tired Suncor will do as other o&g players will do. It is nothing particularly special or spectacular, other than by size and scale, it is one of the largest energy companies in Canada.
that being said, with or without Trudeau, the outlook for the industry as a whole isn't exactly great. Even with a o&g friendly government in power south of the border, they haven't been able to stave of their industry's decline any better than we have. They haven't been particularly successfully in getting pipelines or other big o&g projects done either; without plenty of legal challenges. Even internationally, o&g is out of favor in terms of attracting capital. It sure doesn't bode well, when even Exxon gets booted from the dow after being on there for nearly a century.
is Suncor a good choice for a value-style energy pick, I think so. However, I think you'll be disappointed if you hope this is going to be a high flyer in the long run.

Especially gas futures. Will Suncor rise again(with Buffett's support)? Or will the Liberals kill
the oil and gas industry? Canada needs a strong and determined govt. Canada has everything to be successful; but not good leader.
