Spain is quite inexpensive IMO.

....rountrip airfare for two was 1900 CAD

....Mercedes car rental for 2.5 weeks is 1300 CAD

...Two nights in a 500 square foot one bedroom apartment with kitchen and two balconies overlooking the cathedral in Granada was 240 euros

...dinner at a tapas bar the first night in Granada....3 pints of beer....one glass of wine....2 tapas and an entree.....24 euros

....one week in 2000 sq foot house in the mountains with a river flowing through the backyard....980 euros.  Wine at the grocery store average price for great wine 8 euros a bottle

....8 nights in a beachfront penthouse condo with 3 balconies overlooking the Sea.....950 euros. Followed by one night at a boutique hotel near airport.....80 euros

....estimated fuel cost about 100 euros

...estimated groceries about 250 euros (we both like to cook so we don't eat out a lot)....probably another 200 euros for restaurants

....wife's shopping.....don't ask (lol)
