Exxon is paying a lot for Pioneer IMO.  I glanced at the proposed deal and frankly, I don't see how the math works for Exxon (good for Pioneer shareholders!!).  Guess I must be missing something.

Whether this price is translatable to SU remains to be seen.  Right now SU seems to go up and down with the oil price and The Street is OK with that.  The main difference I suppose is that Pioneer produces a lot of gas which as I have posted before, has IMO, a better runway going forward than a pure oil producer.
