My biggest fear is that when SU announces these buybacks, these criminal hedge funds will keep dragging the stock lower because they know it will go up due to buybacks. I kinda saw that with BPY. I just wish they made these imaginary trading options illegal

Why would that be a bad thing? Buying back your own stock on a treadmill of cheap stocks? That's the goal, buy your own stocks as cheap as possible, reduce the float & increase the dividends .. = higher yield, lower dividends per share.

Oh no don't get me wrong, it's a good thing. I'm just predicting sp volatility: as suncor buys these hedge funds will take advantage of this bb. It will still end up higher, but with a lot of lows I think. It doesn't matter if you're long SU
