A Rant - Some OT and Some Not

Biden is in the process of signing a new Exexcutive Order moving up the deadline for conversion to EVs through a tailpipe emmisions order through the EPA.  The law is modelled after a similar law in China.

Now - Executive Orders in the US are not laws and so they can be reversed by a new Executive order which recinds the previous order.

Why is this important to watch for shareholders of SU?

In the upcoming election in the US, if Biden manages to get back in then this Order will be on the books for another 4 years and this could im[act the volume of oil sales in the US and will for sure tilt where the investment money will be going.  If Trump wins, he will rescind the order.  So if you are long SU then keep track of the polling etc.

Now for the rant...

A new video was released on Tic Toc on how to be a squatter in the US.  Seems that illegal immigrants in New York State can squat in a house if it vacant for more than 31 days.  Once they have squatters rights they have more legal rights than the actual owner of the house!!  Apparently some illegals have done this 7 times and own 7 houses!!

Upside down world?

You bet!!

For the life of me I can't understand how, in talking to some of my American friends who are Democrats they hate Trump so much that they are willing to let the country go down the drain by contunuing to  vote Democrat.  Again as per the earlier point - keep an eye on this.  It could affect your investment in oils.

What's more, if they then own the house through squatting, in many cases they can register to vote.  Guess who they will vote for?

Another irrelevant post from the guy who told us he sold his Suncor share about 8 months ago at the complete low. Since you sold, SU is up 27% or 36% on an annualize basis. It must be very frustrating. We are already seing EV sales adoption dropping. There are more than 1 billion humain that don't even access to electricity. The few saving we will get from cars will be needed big time ...more

Nelson...you are certainly entitled to your opinion as to relevance of my posts.  That said, if your focus is narrow, you are certainly likely to make mistakes as time goes on by missing "irrelevant" things that can have a big impact on your investments. In terms of selling SU a while back, I am not in the least bit frustrated about that since that money was put to good use ...more

somehow the self proclaimed expert forgot to tell us to place some bet on BTC, Nvidia, MSFT, FB, etc months, year ago. He only know that change is coming, be prepared and buy the right stocks, and be pragmatic like him.  IE constant self praising without any track record here nor skin in the game (SU)

Hence why should i give stock recommendation? there are enough for me to do here to point out all your inconsistency, hypocrisy, backtracking, one sided view, self gloating.  I did call you a poser several times, with no retraction.  I do remember posting some oil stock ratings from wallstreet/banks analysts and i provided their charts and links, ...more

Good Observation. He Nelson07 and his other handles such as Lifeisgood1010 etc are touts for various gimmick stocks like DRX (ADF) and TVA some years back. Stocks without any verifiable coverage or scrutiny on facts.Junk from Quebec.

I agree here about the USA elections , for sure as months come by , some decisions on my oil position will need to be reviewed , but what we may loose in oil with a Biden win , we will sell to others via trans mountain , I'm more worry of Trudeau win in 2025  for oil investments .....
Comment by Experienced on Mar 21, 2024 7:23pm
Marty....agree with you that Trudeau somehow winning will have a more direct impact on the Canadian oil industry but both are important  Trying not to be too dramatic...the next election in many countries will be pivotal for investors  Failure to keep track of this will be detrimental for investment

I think your point is that if Biden wins it will be bad for shareholders in oil companies. Seems to me that if Trump wins, it will also be bad. He has stated he wants to crank up drilling and oil production. As a shareholder in many oil and gas companies, the last thing I want to see is more U.S. oil and gas production.

both biden and trump didn't do what they promised biden promised to close down all drilling on federal land, all offshore drilling, didn't happen trump promised to lock hillary clinton up, build that wall, didn't happen* * i could let trump slide on this one because he's new in the white house, doesn't know who he can trust, lots of back stabbers surrounded him in his first ...more

mrbb...agreed Most successful politicians surrounded themselves with loyalist that they grew up with and knew for decades....Trump didn't do that The other thing that Trump didn't do was to clean up the swamp....he left too many backstabbers in the beaurocracy.  I was at a BnB in Northern Ireland and at breakfast there were a couple CIA operators on holidays from an assignment with ...more

im not sure about that.  I think Biden has been good for oil producers.  Plus Trump may have a heck of a lot more pull with SA.
Comment by Experienced on Mar 21, 2024 9:48pm
meritmat...don't agree with that Despite all the anti oil rhetoric coming out of Biden and attempts to get the banks against oil and the "Green New Deal", US oil production in 2023 was a record.    In addition his Green New Deal is resulting in trillions of annual deficits and pilimng up the National Debt which will eventually result in a lower standard of living and ...more
