Incompetence Sheer Stupidity or Political GeniusThe Strategic Petroleum Reserve was set up to provide oil for the United States to meet unforseen disasters which could from such things as hurricanes or other natural disasters or in a war situation or similar emergency situation.
While the Biden Administration has done lots of things to diminish oil security in the US, it decided that the high cost of gasoline was an emergency and began draining the SPR. Now, the Energy Secretary has sent a letter to the major oil producers and refiners asking them to stop exporting oil since this oil will be needed in the US going into hurricane season.
At thr same time Biden is telling Europe "we have your back if you face an energy crunch"
