Electric Cruise Ships

Electric Cruise ShipsThe cruise industry has already started building electric cruise ships and retrofitting exisiting ones.  Some will be hybrids and many will be pure electric.

The average cruise ship burns 80,000 gallons a day and world-wide there are 323 cruise ships.  That represents the equivalent of about 7% of the daily production of SU just to put this number into perespective in just this industry alone.

Of course this transition is not going be done overnight or in a couple of years for sure but it represents yet another trend in the transportation world towards less reliance on oil.  Another headwind for those who invest in oil companies.
