Suncor is doomed????

Yes they are making loads of cash today, however each day some other financial institution jumps on the climate change bandwagon and starts pounding their chests to show the world how they will save our planet, boohoo.....,be that as it may,and i personally think it's mostly hogwash, i believe its working. Suncor has too many shares, and too few investors and to many Greta Thurnbergs ,and the Gretas are winning. I dont see Suncor disappearing anytime soon but I do see them languishing for a very long time. Even at double the oil price, you need many buyers to drive s/p Personally i dont see any solution, then on top of that,we have a federal goverment that is anti oilsands .You tell me the answer......

A triple of the dividend, followed by 8% growth for 10 years? .84 x 3 = $2.52 2.52 x 1.0810 = $5.44 per share Indeed, probably not possible, unless oil prices stay perpetually high... If he only raised the current dividend by 8% a year for 10 years, that is very much possible. 0.84 x 1.0810 = $1.81

There probably is no answer...and its largely out of the hands of the company That being said, the company can reward existing shareholders by paying out a larger portion of FCF through increased dividends and maximizing buybacks. I'm not at all convinced that the planned large scale investments in renewables will do much to convince shareholders to come back. Most institutions that are ...more

the only other answer,(and its drastic),though drastic times calls for drastic measures,is this...We separate as western provinces, create our own country, send oil through Churchill Manitoba,or wherever we can,and do what we do best, produce oil, grow vegetables and produce some of the best beef found anywhere in the world, and say to he11 with the feds, and open the taps.

Let's not forget about , BC and the fish, hydro electric, gold, silver , copper, ocean ports, tourism, farming, ranching, water, acuaqulture, etc .. Always wanted Quebec to win the separation vote and have BC Alberta , Saskatchewan,Yukon NWT and maybe Manitoba form what undoubtedly would be the Strongers and best Country in the world..Any all that tax money we give J.T. Would stay right here.All ...more

LOL...you can blame the Brits for allowing the Quebecois to largely preserve their language, rights and customs. It seemed like a good idea at the time, rather than risk the possibility of them being wooed over into joining the American seperatists I guess....and it largely worked, when the American Revolution came rolling around, the Quebecois did not join the rebellion Louisiana in the USA was ...more

You're delusional if you think that BC would go along with the WEXIT delusion...if a WEXIT does ever happen, its going to largely be a landlocked confederation of hick provinces (and I'm Albertan). Ask yourself, when the last time, an even remotely right wing government won in BC?
