and I have absolutely no information to back this up.
Just guessing.
MEG has been moving up nicely recently and is now about $1 below its 52 week high.
Not many larger cap energy companies can say that.
At the same time..... SU has shown some relative weakness to a steady oil price (could also be due to PC breach).
Mmm..... talks going on?
Nevertheless,  will allocate equally here as I hold both and need to hedge just in case.

Certainly the first time I've heard that rumor.  Great call if you in fact turn out to be correct.  Would love MEG added to the SU portfolio.  Great asset. good luck to all the longs.

Pure speculation on my part. Yes, MEG does look really good here. Over 100k bbl/day of very low cost producion, attactive tax pools & they really took a chunk off the debt last year. Sometimes these names trade like something brewing and then nothing happens. Maybe they talk about potential deals but cant agree on valuations. Imperial oil getting hit hard as well lately. Maybe they are
