Elon BAD

The price of Toyota's basic transportation Carolla ranges from $23k to $30k.

The cost of a Honda Civic ranges from $30k to $50k

Tesla will be rolling out its new Gen 3 by the end of next year or shortly thereafter for about Cdn$32k before the $5k rebate which effectively drops the price to $27k.

The Gen 3 will be the safest compact car on the road, will have the latest and greatest technology, will cost about 80% less to operate than similar ICE cars, will last twice as long, and will be fun to drive.

The TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) of the Tesla Gen 3 will blow every legacy automaker in North America away.  In fact, it will also blow away the Japanese and European automakers.

My hope is that Tesla will finance its Gen 3 offering at rates that give the little guy a chance.

Instead of everyone crapping on Elon and Tesla, maybe they should do their homework

Elon BAD has increased traffic on X by 22% since taking over Twitter despite cutting staff by 85%.

Elon BAD is already sending 80% of the world's spaceships into orbit each year at a fraction of the cost of what other companies and nations are doing. He also "saved" the Ukraine (in Ukraine's words) by instantly providing a viable communications network after Putin destroyed Ukraine's existing network.  Elon is rapidly bringing effective internet to the world where it would not have existing for a generation or more into the future.

Elon BAD has dropped the price of all 4 of Tesla's models by $20k or more since the supply chain shortage days a couple of years ago while no other car company has come close. He is already producing cars 3x faster than VW who have recently admitted publicly that they can't compete.  Tesla expects to build the new Telsa Gen 3 cars twice as fast as they build their existing cars on half the footprint.  Tesla can build and ramp up a new plant for a fraction of the cost of what legacy automakers spend on a new plant and in 1/2 to 1/3 the time.

Elon BAD is creating solutions for the energy grid energy faster than anyone in the world by introducing cost effective battery storage in combination with solar energy.

Please explain to me why people don't like Tesla products as I don't get it.  You might not like Elon for whatever reason, but are you willing to pay more for inferior products from antiquated technology?

I respect Elon's opinions on many issues especially his reluctance to bow down to certain global political wannebees. He it seems is the last means of defense to combat world ignorance and self destruction. He definitely will upset the GanGreeners with his latest comments.   https://ground.news/article/elon-musk-asks-world-to-stop-demonizing-oil-for-now

LOL, who's hating elon here? We just hate the battery boys spouting EV here You've been drummed up watching too many tesla/elon videos and come here to paint SU shareholders as elon haters

elon had also told us that cybertruck would start at 39,995 USD at introduction. you're riding on too much hot air by assuring gen 3 would cost 32k CAD 2 years from now.  And you call yourself an analyst

Obscure...part of the problem is still price.. In Canada the Model Y is still priced significantly above a comparable car - say a Hyundai Tucson so the math really doesn't work.  Perhaps the math works in the US. https://driveteslacanada.ca/news/tesla-lowers-model-3-and-model-y-prices-in-canada-but-increases-model-s-and-model-x-plaid https://www.hyundaicanada.com/en/showroom/2024 ...more

Hidden costs:  depreciation expense - Ev cars depreciate faster than ICE vehicles and that's a significant cost.
Comment by Obscure1 on Dec 19, 2023 9:46am
Experienced:  It is much cheaper to buy a car in the US as they offer a US 7,500 credit plus many States offer additional incentives.  Buyers need to be patient as it will take another year plus to get the US$24,000 car which will be $16,500 or less after the credit.   Torontojay:  EV's don't depreciate faster than ICE. In fact, EV's will depreciate a lot ...more

Robin believe EVs belong to a very special class of electronics because every other electronic toys end up as electronic craps very quickly, IE extreme depreciation.

just more ewaste ending up in landfill or we need more e-recycling The research indicates e-waste generation per person increased from 8.3 kilograms in 2000 to 25.3 kilograms in 2020. Meanwhile, inefficient handling of e-waste can lead to toxic materials being released into the environment, causing environmental and human health problems, the study said. Canada's electronic waste more than ...more

What about toxic, or unhealthy matter from ewaste entering the groundwater? Is our omniscient liberal, Ottawa green advocates funding any studies in this matter?

unfortunately canada's recycling programm isn't robust as in the US.  Main ewaste recyclers in canada are located in ontario major center, where they offer decent scrap prices (still not comparable to the US). Due to high of shipping cost, most ewaste are not captured from other provinces because it's cheaper to dump it than to ship them to ontario. Also ewaste collection in ...more

bt....good point....BUT...does any of that matter in the short run from an investment strategy point of view?  IMO....the answer is no.. Over the long run it will for sure and that why I have been advocating for quite some time for people to do homework to find companies that will benefit from the problems caused by Government policy - there is lots of money to made there IMO...
