 true BUT... after thinking for few seconds, i like the bring up the difference of oil storage fire vs battery fire.  Oil storage fire result from either human error and/or equipment malfunction, not because oil is spontaniously and unpredictablely ignite itself   The oil follow natural physics. Oil need spark and cerain oxygen level to ignite.  If human error is ...more

True.....but you have a greater chance of being killed by a drunk driver than being killed by an EV battery fire. If you are talking about random  events. Both events have a very low probability of ever happening. Frankly, I wouldn't lose sleep worrying about either one happening especially since I agree with you that either one of them is an uncontrollable random event.

Agreed, random events are exactly that and not something to form energy policies around. In broad terms EV's are here to stay and the numbers are rising. Oil use will not disappear but look ahead 30 years and what do you see?
