RE: RE: RE: Telus TV rollout building up a stong htechperson what you say is true.
I have two adult children and neither has any tv at all. None of their friends do either. What video content they need, they get off the net. Almost any tv programming can be gotten off a bitorrent site at one's leisure.
Another phenomena that I think is impacting TV hugely is video gaming. For the most part many younger people seem to have ditched TV in favour of video gaming.
I don't think all the fuss telcos and tv providers are making has anything to do with a few heavy bandwidth users. Really, in a population of millions how many can there be? I think it's a smokescreen.
It's got everything to do with the fact that they're scared stiff of business models like NetFlix and would like to choke them off asap so they don't become too tough a competitor.
I am currentlly looking at Nerflix. Many people I know have it and like it. It's far more flexible than tv and you don't have to pay an extra hundred bucks just to get a couple of channels that are actually worth watching.
