The sellout was with the last executive. This executive did what was painfully obvious it had to do.
No point in trying to deny it, the TWU is an empty shell and the 2500 vote turnout makes that abundantly clear. Darren pretty thoroughly destroyed the TWU but he also pretty thoroughly destroyed employee morale and loyalty as well. Time will tell what affect this will have on telus.
Happily for the union, who now gets to continue and try to rebuild, at least 80% of those who voted were smart enough to realize that there was clearly no appetite for a strike, and even if there was an appetite by some, most of the telus employees in Alberta and back east would cross the picket line making any result other than a "yes" pointless and in fact potentially more destructive.
Hopefully the next time you make a comment you'll take some time to think about, or better still, actually talk to someone involved rather than offer nothing more than a shallow, knee-jerk reaction to a very complex issue.
