Who will end up with the new Telus shares

Who will end up with the new Telus sharesI would bet that most of these shares the banks will not sell to the public but end up in mutual funds and other investment funds. The banks just got a huge break on the price of Telus shares. Considering the annual increase in the dividend and the potential for growth with the best Telco in North America it makes sense to hold on to these shares rather than selling to the public for a few pennies profit. How much would Telus shares have gone up if they tried to buy about 60 million shares on the open market?
