Spinout Potentials

With the recent Lifeworks acquisition being rolled into the TELUS Health portfolio, it looks like there is the potential for a spinout ala the TELUS International spin. The Lifeworks acqusition gives the Portfolio a profitable base on which the rest of the brand can build out from, and also gives it enough heft to be its own player in the market without becoming a drag on the core TELUS business. It also aligns with statements made prior to the International spin about how the Health and Agriculture segments were being built out in much the same manner as International.

IMO, a TELUS Health IPO isn't likely in the cards within the next year because the markets conditions aren't ripe for one.  There's too much volatility and a lack of appetite for risk at the moment and near future until there's more clarity around the BoC and Fed rate hikes.   A TELUS Ag IPO is likely a few years away.  Still need to grow the business a lot
