RE: What's wrong with current contract?Two issues important to me are:
Current contract..scheduling is done by management and union.
overtime is voluntary
Proposed contract...scheduling is done by management.
overtime can be manditory up to 7.5 hrs per wk.
Scenario:
YOu are planning your vacation and have booked the time off you normally work, monday to friday. You expect to be able to leave on the saturday to get away. Company can come along on friday prior to you leaving and tell you you have to work overtime tommorrow. If you have purchased air fare you have a problem. Under the current contract this does not happen.
So...Red, this gives the company flexibility to maximize their people and profits...but at what cost?
