RE: What can the union doMiri...not my intention to bother anyone...
You seemed to miss some points..
1. No one expects a 1981 contract, period. A negoiated one would be nice. I brought up 1981 (no I was not working for BCTEL then) only for reference as it was the last major dispute, and was settled by bargaining.
2. Pickets are not the same everyday, they rotate, sometimes going to other locations. Also, some folks picket even when not scheduled..
3. I restate my position on replacement workers, no employer will ever trust a person who crosses a picket line..if these folks are so great, the company could always promote them or give them exempt status.
4. As to being out manouvered, I must agree with you. Telus has spent truckloads of cash in their contingency plan. Telus has superior firepower due to money...more lawyers. But...Telus is stalled right now...no major business is going to ink any major deals until this mess is cleared up.
5. Yes, I lose, Telus loses, shareholders lose, and investors lose.
