Telus Bonds

DBRS has rated Telus's bond issuance at BBB+ negative. A little surprising to me, for a $40 billion company? Also, the market doesn't seem to like this new debt for Telus either as, share price has dropped. Telus will be using the proceeds from the bonds to pay down debt and for general corporate purposes.

The negative outlook is likely due to their overall debt:EBITDA ratio being above target and likely will continue to be elevated with the spend needed for the upcoming 5G spectrum actions for 3800 MHz and mm-wave.
