I think this will affect heavy oil producers a lot more then the natty gas players. I don't see this negatively affecting Trican and their customers as much as you'd think. Yes, it's not an ideal situation but higher energy prices will also increase exports by rail.
As I said in an earlier post, the US is the largest exporter of crude to Canada. They're exporting condy because we don't have enough of it here. Trican's customers produce condensate/ngls/dry gas, not heavy oil.
Maybe people in eastern/central Canada need to feel a little inflation pain to remind them how important oil & gas is to their way of life. Especially when the covid restrictions start to wind down. Who knows how this plays out, but I think everyone on this message board understands you don't just shut down a major supply pipeline without some kind of a retaliation.
