Trogarzo IM Trial soon to start
Taimed announced today that TH and it had agreed to start an IM trial with TH bearing the costs of that trial. That is not new info but it is now official.
I hope this is a good decision, but am not sure. I don't know how much money it will cost for the trial but if it brings in even a small amount of extra sales, it would pay for itself. I am not sure how the decisions are made, but they w ere considering going for IM instead of IV Push much earlier and, had they gone straight to IM, Taimed would have picked up the cost of the trial I believe.
The whole episode has been a mess with it taking up to four years after intial Trogarzo approval to get the IV Push approved (assuming that happens) when we were told it would be more like a year. I believe that delay may be mostly Taimed's fault but I am suspect the debating between the companies on whether to go IV Push or IM had a lot to do with the initial delay.
Also, I have heard from some doctors that the IV Push or IM version would result in more sales of Trogarzo. Let's hope that is correct.

Shame there are no details. Taimed are calling it a Ph3, I'd rather see it called a bioequivalence trial. It would be nice to know exactly what THTX are signing up for.
