Tragedy

Tragedy

This is really unfortunate. Maybe under better timing circumstances this could have worked. There are other service companies in Calgary that appear to be able to compete globally, but this one couldn't get out from under a very high G&A expense of $20million plus per annum. In combination with some very poor luck in drilling in Brazil by one of their customers, leading to a contract cancellation, this poor sucker was done when the bond deal wouldn't float last fall.  Obviously, I have no idea if the equity here is today worth $1 or $30 million, but experience tells me the lower number is the more probable. After all is said and done, I will miss TID. I made darn good money trading this name twice. Have to admit though, as in what have you done for me lately, it will be a frosty day in hell before I invest in another Walter Dawson deal. It's just mind-boggling the amount of value destruction that occurred here under his watch. Interesting lesson, and I'm just very, very glad it didn't cost me a penny to see this name immolate. Mind you, I have plenty of other wounds. I would suggest to all shareholders that INA (Iona) might take some of the sting off this fiasco.
