nav verses rav

is an accounting term for tax purposes not. It is real asset value that counts.

Tko gib replacement value on gib mill is 1.5 billion. Gib still has 20 years of current ore to mine with upside expansion at 130 million pounds per year. 3.00 copper gives tko over 100 million free cash per year.

Florence has the same reserve but twice the net back for 200 million times 20 years.

Ymi more than florence. Np 5 times. Alley not sure.

Currently ph has a proven resource total of 500 million pounds total copper proven for a 10 year life. A mere pitance of taseko pipeline or real asset value.

The only reason I am in ncu is because of my belief that there feasability studies and drill will bring much more in to resource calcs.

Good point on the replacement value nf. I had been wondering about that but do not have a good way to guage it( at least not without a lot of learning) That could account for a big part of the differential in terms of right downs in the past of assets that still have more use in them than they are valued at.

But that brings up another question then. Will they not have to build a whole new mine on richer assets like flo? I mean the big trucks etc can be moved but are the assets at Gib worth much if the grade has dropped to marginal vs waste rock etc?

The value of assets at Gib are totally dependant on copper price....operating costs are relatively stable, and there are large reserves at known grade.  Also, there is opportunity to greatly expand reserves with some drilling...will happen down the road.

You r thinking along correct lines not. I will spin a bit of history 4 u not. Taseko was mined decades ago by another corp. That corp did most of the stripping on 5 low grade pits and mined the near surface material on a 45 thousand tonne per day mill throughput. Peak copper never hit. The operator shut down and left a quite a few million in the bank for care and maintenance. Taseko came along ...more

Thanks nf. That is a very clear and informative historical overview. I had a small TKO postion a little while ago and will look a little closer at taking a position here too. I am bullish on copper and my last few month of reit purchases have don very well. I may shift some reit resources into TKO while holding my NCU position for a few months minimum  Cheers, Notgnu PS: enjoy your  ...more
