Rumours

Rumours Well futures popped this afternoon and went up limit. 382 ish on May and 391 on July . The settlement close was 3-4 dollars less . The rumor is that the CVD(counter vail duty) is going to be 18 percent on April 24th. Not for sure just rumours. The addition of the AD or anti dumping duty will not be known until July 25th ish.   Guessing , it could be around 10 percent. If I were a betting man and I am , I will be going long July on the futures tomorrow.  Doing the math of 18 percent , and that is based on an fob Cdn mill price , we are today a cost of between 75-85 dollars per mfbm . I think this market is about to pop again and I think the futures will reflect that in the next few days. My customers are busy and I cannot find them what they need. The allowable cut numbers are going to be coming out in mid May and another rumor is , as many as 5 mills producing about 250 mfbm per year have to go away. I mean probably over a 3-4 year period. Again folks we are 1.3 million housing starts plus in the States and I am not pumping here but the Eastern mills , particularly Tembec is about to , let me correct that , is going to have a great run. Have a great night. Lash
