Jump Ball - or - falling Knife?

Jump Ball - or - falling Knife?I have followed this deposit since it was "found" by BHP in the mid 1990's. Nothing ever seems to go right for long at Hope bay- maybe its just too remote. The gold however is definetly there.

Now that McGibons has retired and the board is seeking strategic alternatives, I find myself looking to finally make an investment decisoin.

JUMP BALL:
Who wants this deposit? Newmont? AGnico eagle? These are the two names I come up with - but admittedly thre are probably 100+ gold companies gloablly that I hjaev never heard of who might have an interest. Think there might be a bidding war?

Falling KNife:
Is there a chance that nobody wants this deposit? Newmont bascially built the mine and handed it over to TMAC at a HUGE loss. Admittedly, Newmont was going through some things at the time, but perhaps they determined it was simply too difficult a property to operate.

Apperciate all thoughts on who might take this over and at what price. They will either be bought out, or bankrupt, in a year I reckon.
