Gekko’s Gold Ore Treatment Plants

Here's an interesting link outlining the startup and operation and some difficulties with two Gekkos Gold Ore Treatment Plants. It's a lot more complicated than I would have ever imagined. The first company seemed to have switched chemicals at one stage between the preliminary testing and later the operation causing unforeseen problems. https://citeseerx.ist.psu.edu/viewdoc/download;jsessionid=E48B78304F6E148C587CFDBC87617AAF?doi=10.1.1.612.2865&rep=rep1&type=pdf

The Gekko plants seem to have a lot of problems but they also say they are all tested before they leave the factory? I wonder if they are really the right people to use if they had such a lot of failures earlier on. They might be cheaper suplliers but if there mill is wrong for the ore its a foolish economy to make.

62% is not good.  Brucejack which opened around the same time with a similar head grade is getting 96.5% at this point.

Understandably it is hard to defend a mill that has been struggling for several quarters but every project is diffferent with unique challenges. These mills have a lot of moving parts and require systematic troubleshooting which takes time. TMAC has a strong management with proven mine finders/developers and I am certain they will work through the issues and improve the recoveries. The 3 ...more

Seems a big step in recovery is needed? I think they need to consider what damages Gekko can be made to pay in the contract?
