I have never heard of that before. Usually, or at least I thought (experts, please jump in here) L2 freezes at the halt, and stays that way until end of day. Then if stock still halted next day, L2 opens with no info showing.

That helps keep the market sentiment/crazy speculation down. Otherwise people could manipulate your feelings even more than you think possible and when the market did open, somebody would be giving away their shares needlessly or paying a ridiculous idiot tax to acquire some at that moment, until things settled.
