The services were provided to subscribers on both a postpaid and prepaid basis.

Actually you are wrong and apparently naive. While the Reddit crowd started out pursuing companies with large short positions their interest has expanded to include small cap stocks particularly in the pharma/bio area. Another interesting example is Sundial Growers - tell me how that "exposes injustice in the markets....".
