Multi-billion dollar project in partnership with a local native tribe. Ontario government shaping up to be onside. Effective solution to storage of intermittent renewable energy. Battle of the Greens vs. Indians? Greens prefer mining-intensive 'clean' batteries. How polluting is pumped storage eh?

Greens should be jumping with joy at this project, since power storage is necessary to build an efficient electricity supply using intermittent renewable sources. It doesn't get much cleaner than moving freshwater into and out of a reservoir. Instead they will undoubtedly fight it tooth and nail. Maybe this time around they will be fighting a battle against the Chippewa Nation too. >> ...more
