You are talking about new historic lows? You do know how valuations work right? The historic price has nothing to do with the future price if there is a catastophic event that basically wipes out the value of a company. Transat book value is about 0 now so no different than if you were investing in an new company other than goodwill that comes with name recognition....You remind me of the guys in the MJ sector that say the stock was 20 bucks 2 years ago and it is .10 now and could go back to 20 bucks. True if anything was actually the same but when the stock was 20 bucks they had 10 million shares out and no debt and now they have 200 million shares out and all their assets are encumbered by debt. You are not talking the same company. Same story with Transat over the past 1 plus they have burned through most of their cash, issued more shares and encumbered many of their unencumbered assets with debt.
