The CFIA has made this vaccine available to producers by licensing it for use; however, it is not a mandatory requirement. This vaccine reduces (not eliminates) shedding of E.coli by cattle. This vaccine alone cannot guarantee food at the end of the farm to fork continuum is safe. Proper food safety controls along the processing chain are required.
