There has been a lot of play around "everything" being on the table with Bioniche...including the VMC.
What a shame it would be to see this All Canadian asset sold South or to the Germans, right out from under us, in this time of emerging pandemic after emerging pandemic. Who really cares about e coli, in the big scheme of things, but what happens if this SARS like virus that is creeping across Europe this evening erupts into pandemic status.
We think that we know what a pandemic is, because we have seen SARS, but what could be the next pandemic will more than like blow well past the immigrant, and nursing population and right into the mainstream. Having to rely on foreign vaccine manufacturers to adequately treat your population could cost hundreds of thousands of lives...including many Conservative voters by the way.
With that in mind, as a Ministry of H, foresight -driven strategist, lets encourage Bioniche to sell that asset to a foreign, entirely profit driven and accountability less monolith.
God forbid that a Big C Conservative would consider a minimally expensive E. coli subsidy to float the Bioniche boat for a few years and keep that manufacturing asset Canadian hands.
Something nasty is on its way. It might not be a bad idea to hang on to that plant...if you were the sitting government.
