Zinc forecastsIn an article in something called Live Mint titled" Hindustan Zinc's investors should not take price rally for granted" Wood Mackenzie is quoted as saying the fundamental view has not changed . Their outlook for 2018 is for refined metal deficit of 560000 tonnes and a tight metal market of 32 days of consumer demand by end of year. There are unreported stocks and only after they are utilized will the LME truly reflect the tight supply situation and after that metal prices will increase.The situation should clear up by June. Until then LME inventories could move up and down affecting prices. They forecast a zinc price of $3500 a tonne in Q2 and $4000 a tonne inQ3. Anyone interested in the article should be able to find it. It was released a couple of days ago. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out.
