kramaswamy, the only thing it changes is the type of investor who is interested in the stock.  With 800 million shares and a joke share price, the stock attracts penny stock flippers.  These are the type of investor who are easy to take advantage of.  They come and go, and they have no loyalty to the company.  If you dilute them, they will whine on message boards, but then they will just go away and be replaced by a new group of penny stock flippers.

A company with a respectable share count and a reasonable stock price will attract institutional investors and long term investors.  These investors will only tolerate dilution as a last resort.  They expect results from management, and they hold them accountable.  The current bone headed, dilution happy management would be in danger of losing their cushy jobs if Trevali stock holders were institutions and long term investors.
