RE:The best thing about restarting Caribou..Last time I had looked into it, I believe that management indicated that Caribou had effective costs of around $1.22 spot zinc. As of today, spot price is just about exactly at that level.
The biggest problem with restarting Caribou is that it's a gamble. If spot prices remain where they are, it may end up being the right decision. But if they drop even just a bit - it very quickly becomes a mistake.
Now - that being said, leaving Caribou offline still costs the company money. I expect that management is hoping spot prices will remain above $1.25 for the foreseeable future.
