RE: SmittyfrompaTypically, with a Bakken production "test" of 200-250 BOD, a well will be brought on line choked down somewhat, in this case about 130-140 BOD. If any resevoir engineers are reading here, I think they would tell us that flows are reduced to protect the formation, and maximize long term production. Bison Resources, now part of VET.UN, had pioneered three leg Bakken horizontal wells (from one well bore), but it appears to me that PBG has figured something new and important here, by eliminating most of the water production. My WAG is that the Bakken play will produce a net 6000 BOD for PBG by year end 2007, and will be 15,000 BOD, by year end 2008. The "wildcard" is downspacing, and, IMO, today's PR was extremely conservative in stating wells per section. Don't be surprised, if, in 6-9 months, PBG announces they will double wells per section, to over 1000 total potential, on their acreage.
