Silver Stock prices.. lack of movement Many of us are trying to grasp the present situation of silver stock prices not tracking upward with the massive rise in physical silver prices. U.S. Silver is actually doing better than many similar silver stocks. Reviewing a number of Silver Blogs indicates the silver physical price movement upward is mainly due to "Shorts" covering their positions, while the silver stock investors are sitting back waiting for a price correction downward, before re-entry. From Ed Steer's Gold and Silver blog (April22/11) "The silver stocks did better (Thursday), but prices were mixed. The top-callers are still yelling their lungs out ... and most of the "sheeple" are doing their bidding by selling and waiting for a correction ... how deep it will be and how long it will last ... will be the question of the day. As Ted Butler has mentioned for weeks now, this silver rally is a short-covering rally. Open interest is actually declining because the bullion banks are covering their short positions... It's not caused by new speculative longs coming into the market and bidding the price up. The dynamics are totally different now." From Ted Butler silver analyst (April 20/11) "While the current lofty price levels do allow for a sell-off of significant proportions, the underlying facts and market structure also indicate a melt up is also possible. The financial pain to the silver shorts has been immense and, as a result, the odds of a short covering panic have increased" As for progress with the U.S. Silver stock, we need a positive report from the company and clear indications that the shareholders will be rewarded for their enduring patience and offer incentives for continued support. Once we have actual numbers from U.S. Silver on hand, we can hopefully move forward confidently with promoting the positive values of the company to other investors. In the interim Hecla has sent me a nice copy of their annual report which makes great clear reading, a vision, a commitment and maybe some hopes that could be extrapolated to what we might also see in U.S. Silver some day.
