Reminder of Where We Are

Let's take a minute to re-assess where we are in the big scheme of things. We continue to march along the option path to mitigate shortages in oil. We are now firmly in the "release SPR" phase - with IEA considering a worldwide stock release to mitigate prices.
 
Short term at best. Next step is "conservation" - ie; don't drive unless you absolutely have to. Finally will be the rapid price escalation; where price forces a limit to demand growth.
 
It's not fun on days like today, but it's all part of the process and the big picture has not changed.

It is later than you think. Opec+ has run out of sweet crudes. Nigerian light crudes etc are tapped out. Extra Saudi crude is sour. Syncrude has been sentenced to oblivion. Due to the high price of nat gas in both europe and asia , the cost of desulphurisation has risen enormously. This puts a premium on WTI and Brent . Biden knows all this , Opec+ cannot help them .
