Buyback

On Conf Call just stated that at current prices share buybacks would be the frist choice in the deployment of any cash back to shareholders (once debt targets are achieved later this year).

Thanks Greg.. damn, I missed the CC.. but surely do like this statement.. QUOTE: "On March 4, 2022 our board of directors approved a quarterly dividend in the amount of $0.06 per share, payable on April 18, 2022. This quarterly dividend represents less than 2% of our forecasted 2022 pro forma FFO which we estimate at approximately $2.3 billion with pro forma FCF of approximately $1.9 billion ...more

I have been here for the long haul, in long before the crash from Covid-19's because of the dividends. I hope they take the debt down to 0 this year and give me and all of you 23 cents per month again. That is how I was going to fund my condo rent for the winters. That is very easily to accomplish in this market. COULD YOU IMAGINE ZERO DEBT AND ONLY 162 MILLION SHARES. THIS COULD BE A MONSTER! ...more

Release great earnings announce a dividend drive the share price up and then buy back stock? Why?  And why not put the NCIB in place now? It costs nothing and you do not have to utilize it I will believe they are buying back stocks when they announce an NCIB. Until then dividend increases and or a special dividend are a better way to return value to shareholders IMO. GLTA Longs.

All quintessentially good points to be kept in mind, one certainly wouldn't want to see some outsider come in and benefit from the work that management has done to put the ship on the right course. I trust management enough to decide what is best and I bet they don't want to be taken over either.
