Since then it's been mostly passive, letting American interests drive what Canadian O&G infrastructure looks like. Harper's inaction was so profound that Enbridge and Kinder Morgan tried (and failed) to take matters into their own hands; Trudea killed Enbridge's project outright and it's still not clear what his true intent is for Trans Mountain.
If you think Scheer is the shining white knight who will save us all ... uh, no, he is utterly devoid of economic acumen (par with Trudeau). But I'd sure be amused to have Alred E. Neuman's face on our coins. There is no good choice in the coming election, and if you don't mentally prepare yourself for that you may end up sinking into hard drug use. The Green Party needs to get rid of May and find a non-lunatic for a leader. The NDP needs a much stronger and better-prepared personality than Singh. And I need a beer.
