I feel so very fortunate to have sold out last year, but had Victoria been better managed and had maintained a double-digit share price, I may not have sold and therefore would have lost a small fortune today. I had way too many eggs in the same basket. Investing in a single asset mining company with inexperienced management is risky business and a painful lesson perhaps for some investors here.
To those holding on or even buying back in, the risks have gone way up. When I sold I was worried about Victoria's ability to pay off all of the debt that was due this year and especially next. I don't see how they can manage that now and the lenders foreclosing on those loans is a distinct possibility leading to receivership and total shareholder losses.
But JM will still be rich, just not fabulously wealthy.
