The vast majority of the mines operations were not damaged by the breach, so it is not like they are starting over. Even the ponds are intact and bigger landslides occur across major highways in mountainous regions in North America every year, and it doesnt take months to clear with much smaller equipment..
With the huge 6040 shovels and 785D trucks on site, they can move tons of ground in a hurry, but the caveat obviously is they will be moving material saturated with cyanide.
Can it be safely neutralized or removed as is? I dont think it will be that long before we find out ......
