Gold Outlook

The gold markets very strong. This is a market that has a lot of momentum, and therefore I think more and more people will be jumpin in.

if you look into the production cost and gold price ratio, gold is already over priced

Gold over $3000 Cdn at this level.  Do the math.  Debt down......hedges disappear too.  Don't want Argonaut scenario here.  Time to hit the debt and let SP get back over $10 and do a financing to pay for any adventures with Brewery.  If no one is interested in financing then it tells you market does not like the adventure.  Raven might just be better regardless ...more

I think gold is overbought here and in need of a correction. Also don't trust this move before the long weekend.  Am lightening up here. US data has been strong and gold has been straight up for an unusually long stretch. Lots of US data next week. Might be wrong, and could break out further, but definitely not greedy and playing this one conservative as it's been a great run off the ...more

US government data has become a joke. China was always mocked for releasing shall we say unreliable data, the US now does the same. Jobs reports are now always revised downwards after the initial headline grabbing good news, even in the face of constant job lay off news from US business. We know the precious metals manipulation by the bullion banks has been a constant for decades, in fact it's ...more

And speaking of Argonaut Gold, guess who one of the largest shareholders of Argonaut Gold (AR) is?  Try GMT Capital Corp, the same hedge fund that's the largest shareholder of VG.   Not so long ago (Dec 2023), GMT made another huge $85 million CAD purchases of AR shares 223 million to be exact.    Argonaut Gold Closes Previously Announced C$85 Million Bought Deal ...more

Actually, to correct my earlier post, GMT didn't purchase all of the shares in each of the offerrings but they did did purchase significant amounts in both.  Subsequent to the completion of the latest offerring, GMT Capital now owns 29.4% of AR issued shares (so they purchased about 66 million more shares just a few month before AR gets sold). So on the surface, based on GMT's ...more

I have been saying that for 2 years HB.  If we are not back to $10 by July with price of Gold over $3000 cdn.....  Let's see shorts next week.

For sure crazytimes, the whole last little while has been somewhat shocking. Can't blame anyone for taking something off the table. This time does feel different though. Famous last words. But one thing i noticed the other day is now when there is low volume vgcx tends to go up, whereas in the tailspin for the past year or so, on low volume days it would go down. It seems like now when the ...more

VG was definitely saved by the sudden and largely unexpetced rise in the price of gold to these levels.  Hell, even I wasn't expecting to see gold at $2250 already this early in 2024.   Now we just need to see if VG management follows through with their commitment to seriously pay down the debt and I mean seriously, not a few million here and there because giving away $20 ...more

I think gold will probably be one of the better trading vechiles this year as there are geopolitical concerns, interest rates being cut, and of course just a general concern of the politics and the geopolitical situation in the Middle East and for that matter in Eastern Europe.

I agree with you. I also believe you should add in the political situation in the USA. There is real concern on what will happen if Trump loses..

This is a no win election.  Neither senior citizen is the same man they were even 4 years ago very well 8.  I do not see either finishing a term.  I know I live in a glass house with a Grade 10 drama teacher in charge but we are the little kid on the block.  The last 7 years of the US turmoil in extreme politics and  two of the worst candidates in history....Gold is the ...more

From the European prospective...the US looks to be in complete turmoil. The Dems and the Republican voters just seem to have separated too far ideologically for it to be resolved peacefully. Horrible thought but Civil war can not be ruled out. Clinton denied the elections were legitimate in 2016, and of course Trump in 2020. However it goes in 24 the losers will not accept it, dangerous times. In ...more
