UNDERLYING MARKET ACTING VERY STRANGE!!!

Just look at the CAD, EURO etc all tanking daily, with huge flight to US Dollar and gold rising at the same time. Unheard of. Yields starting to rise again also. People going to cash? . Either this is a giant options trade in the metals market gone haywire, and soon to dramatically unwind, or the US dollar has to sell off, or someone is sure some black swan event is coming, before the rest of the market knows whats really up. Generally when things don't make sense, like the highly unusual contradictory market right now, it's because we are missing information yet to be revealed. Just my opinion.

Today's  gold swing was completely irrational.  Someone stepped in and sold a ton. (Pun intended)  If Iran does something crazy and Bebe retaliates...gold will be $2500 and oil over $90 on Monday.  What a turbulent market.

hi keg... US dollar strength through the entire gold rally is bizzare. I honestly have no idea what it means, but feel it should not be taken lightly. For that reason I am being extra cautious until I can figure out what's up! lol. Just my humble opinion.

Hi. Hb....But why is the US dollar rallying so strongly along with gold??? The US dollar should be tanking as gold rises if it's a move away from the US dollar and US debt finally matters! lol. Just my opinion.

It's being manipulated by Wallstreet.  In order to keep the BRICS for taking US dollar market share, they need to keep the US dollar strong.  They also need to keep it strong to keep the economy from inflating more than it already is because the next place is hyperinflation. HB77

Owning shares of VG is nice for a speculative gold play but if you want real protection you need to go with the big guys and the biggest gold company today is Newmont.  Trades under the symbol NGT on the TSX and NEM on the US exchange. I just bought 4,000 shares of NGT about 20 mins ago after the big sell off.   If the world is going to hell in a handbag NGT/NEM is the one you want
