Hard to understand - the company has tried so much to move away from mining and metals toward technology - the tech CEO resigns and they bring commodity/mining person. They make it sound "interim" and then make the guy permanent. Sounds like they knew the outcome and interim was a show. Given the new guy has no tech experience, should we assume we are going back to mining and metals ...more

I share your feeling ; my HMMM was skeptical. He does have a chemical background .Gervais Jacques holds a degree in chemical engineering from Universit Laval and completed a strategy development program at London Business School in England. He joined Alcan in 1991 as a chemical engineer so maybe to say he's solely a mining guy is unfair? I'm just going to see what's going on before I ...more
