Face it. We're all armchair investors here...No one on this board other than maybe one or two posters has ever really offered any concrete and lucid perspective on CPG backed up by good analysis and facts. And I'm not just talking about the bluster around Cation...I'm going way back. And do I own shares in CPG? Yes, I own over 30,000 shares and have bought and sold and held for several years.
Fact-based analysis for us investors is largely done using the quarterly and annual report outs by the company. And then there is what happens on the inside of the company that most of us are not privy to (e.g. Board decisions/discussions, day-to-day operating decisions, how the employees feel about the company and their management, etc.).
If you really think Cation is going to address the issues of CPG (which by the way, most publicly traded companies around the globe suffer from in varying degrees), then good luck with that. I do appreciate that they've brought these issues to the forefront of the conversation (sort of like a whistleblower but not really as we knew various issues already existed).
What I'm going to do as a shareholder: I will vote to leave CPG management in place. They will have 1 year to address some of these known issues (until the next Annual Meeting). And, they will have 1 more year of rising oil prices to help prove out (or disprove) their medium term thesis on their capiltal spend, hedging, and cost containment.
