RE:RE:saudi in controlI also think that one must take as a close look at Russia/Putin as well, and not place all the blame on SA. Russia is the worlds largest oil producer and exporer. Putin says that they will not reduce prodution under any circumstance because of problems with restarting well in cold climates. This is typical Putin balberdash, as we in Canada operate wells in equally cold climates (i.e. to-50 C) and frequently reduce a wells by up to 50% without incurring operating problems. You just don't completly shut in a well. Also in the summer season, which Russia also has, wells can be significantly reduced for at least half the year.
Russia can significantly reduce oil production now if they want, and certainly in summer, but refuse to do so. Why?? Putin is must feel he is getting some political benefit somewhere. Much more heat should be placed on Putin. This is not only a USA/SA game plan.
