RE:Off Topic But Interesting

RE:Off Topic But InterestingMakes me wish I knew how to hack. ;)  There's always someone cheating the system in some way. In any case, of these sorts of trading patterns are observable, they could be a signal for an early buy before earnings reports. There are other stocks I follow that do this same thing. The few days leading up to the release, the stock is driven down by 5-8% and then climbs twice that following the release.  People are wonderful creatures.

Ever wonder why there is trading and price movement ahead of an earnings report....well....The US Government has charged a number of Ukrainian hackers and traders in the US and Ukraine for the equivalent of insider trading....apparently companies store the press releases for their earnings reports with the major newswires a day or two ahead of the release of the information...they hackers went into the servers of the newswires and got the reports of the largest of the Fortune 500 companies a day or so ahead of the release of the earnings reports and passed the information on to the traders who made millions in profits.....the kicker is that they did it for 5 YEARS before getting caught!!...amazing
